Fei was a teacher before retirement. A Peking Opera enthusiast, Fei started his post-retirement painting career from drawing Peking Opera facial masks on small eggshells. Over the past 10 years, he has created more than 3,000 tiny egg paintings of various subjects, covering figures from Chinese classics including Journey to the West, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, as well as the 12 animal signs of the Chinese zodiac.
