Sino-Mexico gala showcases Mexico City

This year marks the China-Latin America Cultural Exchange Year. With the theme of "China and Mexico go hand in hand", a special evening party for Mexican people shines at the over 100-year-old Mexico City Theatre on August 9.

Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong and Mexican House Speaker Jesús Zambrano Grijalva together with over 1,000 audiences were invited to see the performance acted by more than 100 artists from China and Mexico.

The event was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping when he attended the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Summit at Brasilia in July, 2014.

The opening performance Golden Civilization shows the splendid and brilliant Chinese culture to the foreign people.  

The Exchange Year include events throughout 2016, including arts, exhibitions, seminars, films, food festivals, and tourism promotions.

In the second half of the year, a new round of performances including The Legend of White Snake organized by China National Peking Opera Company, Impression on National Orchestra by China National Traditional Orchestra and the National Art Museum of China's Chinese Paintings: An Art History from China's National Gallery exhibition will be unveiled to the public.

Reputed as the "Second National Anthem" in Mexico, Beautiful Sky was co-performed by Chinese and Mexican artists together.

Chinese martial art The Soul of Chinese Wushu demonstrates the essence of Chinese culture.

Chinese dance Delightfulness performed by Yi artists renders the audiences a sense of enjoyment.

Folk dance Golden Cup is performed by Chinese artists from the Hui ethnic group.

Chinese songs Sing the Folk Song and Mexican song La Bamba are adapted as a new song to perform.

Chinese hat dance tries to integrate dancing beauty with difficult acrobatic skills.

Chinese traditional acrobatic show Ballet on the Shoulder offers a feast of eyes for the audiences.
